Mission

To provide recreational/educational/athletic programs to all youth. To combat & deter juvenile crime with youth programs with emphasis on mentoring, self-esteem, social skills to assist youth in leading productive lives and contributing to society.

Programs

7 programs

BOXING: The PAL Boxing program involves approximately 25 children year-round three to four days per week. The Boxing program is open to youth ages 8 through 17 years. The PAL boxing participates in various local and state competitions and tournaments nad in various exhibitions throughout the year. This program teaches the sport of boxing, its rues and regulations, the importance of physical fitness and nutions, as well as major life tools such as respect, self-discipline, and control.

MARTIAL ARTS: PAL Martial Arts program serves approximately 50 youth year round two to four days per week. PAL Martial Arts program includes about 4 children with special needs such as autism. The Martial Arts program is open to children ages 5 through 17 years. The Martial Arts program participates in various state and local tournaments and in various exhibitions througout the year. this program teach the art of self-defense, as well as major life tools such as respect, self-discipline and control.

BOWLING LEAGUE: There are approximately 50 youth involved in PAL's Bowling League. The bowling league is open to children 5 through 17 years. PAL's Bowling League includes children with special needs such as autism. The program offers basic training for beginners and also experience bowlers will be taught to sharpen their skills. The bowling program teaches the fundamentals of bowling in a league format. It is designed to provide the children a opportunity to meet new friends and learn the value of team play in a fun, supervised environment.

COMPUTER LABS AND TUTORING: El Centro PAL provides children with computer labs and tutoring at no cost. It serves approximately 100 children during the school year. The computer labs operate 5 days a week. The labs feature full internet access and printers for homework purposes. Computers are equipped with necessary programs that help children with school projects or research. Tutoring is also available in our labs to teach children computer literacy and assist them in their school work.

CATERING TRAINING PROGRAM: The Catering Training Program is open to youth 14 through 17 years. The programs serves around 30 youth year round. The participate in the program two to four days of the week. In the PAL Catering program, members get hands-on work experience and knowledge. The learn about the catering business, from how to set tables, to wash dishes, to ordering supplies, and cooking for more than 600 people.

Total programs

GOLF: PAL Golf is new for the upcoming year and will serve approximately 20 youth two to three days per week. The Golf program will be open to youth 10 through 17 years of age. The program will include children with special needs. The Golf program will partcipate in a local league as well as local and state tournaments and various rounds of golf throughout the year. This program teaches the sport of golf, its rules and regulations, the importance of physical fitness and nutrition, as well as major life tools such as respect, self-discipline, patience and control.
