The organization has engaged in issue advocacy to help pass legislation to look at the issues surrounding blood clots and pulmonary embolisms. This activity is conducted by directors Doug and Janet Adkins and is conducted in Tallahassee. The total percentage of time and expenses allocated to this activity is 30 percent and the activity is funded through donations to the organization by the Adkins family, in honor of their daughter Emily Adkins, who died from a blood clot in 2022 following ankle surgery. This activity further' s the exempt purposes by providing critical voice and advocacy to help bring awareness to the important public policy issues surrounding blood clots.
