Empower Yolo Inc

Resource Center: Empower Yolos resource centers provide vital support services to individuals and families in need throughout the county. Services include emergency food distribution, clothing and hygiene supplies, housing assistance, case management, tax assistance and access to health, and financial resources. The centers serve as safe and welcoming spaces where clients can receive information, referrals, and direct support tailored to their individual needs, fostering long-term stability and self-sufficiency for vulnerable community members. In 2024, 1,553 individuals made 5,501 trips to the agency clothing closet. 513 tax payers were provided income tax assistance and received $928,332 in state and federal refunds.

Youth Services: Empower Yolos ASSETs (After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens) program partners with schools and the broader community to provide academic support and safe, enriching opportunities for high school students. More than just an after-school program, the Woodland ASSETs team builds meaningful connections with youth and their families, fostering the development of life skills, leadership abilities, and personal growth. The program also offers family literacy services to support the parents of participating students. ASSETs operates after school, on weekends, during summer sessions, and throughout vacation periods, providing consistent, year-round support for teens and their families.
