We support incarcerated people to get their creative work outside of prison and connect with mission-aligned organizations.

EAS Films for Liberation is currently producing three films with incarcerated directors. Additionally, we support the San Quentin Film Festival, the first held inside a state prison.

Expenses: $175K

EAS Writing for Liberation, helped incarcerated writers publish over 180 articles an win several awards. The press interviewed incarcerated writers 15 times in 2024. The reach of the stories have expanded with articles in Rolling Stone Magazine and Time, both of which boast of having over 100 million readers across all of their platforms. The success inside continues on the streets. At least 14 EA members have paroled, with six earning fellowships and none returning to prison.
