Encompass Adoptees

Adoptive parent programs: includes 2 monthly support and education groups for parents, as well as a retreat or picnic each year. This program supports an average of 12 families per month.

Education series: this program includes a series of educational adoption related videos and presentations. These 6 presentations were online, open to the public, and had attendees from various states. The 6 videos were created for kinnect to share with adoptive and kinship families through their specific online portal for registered families.

Art show and pre-show workshops: this program included 6 art workshops for adult adoptees, and 6 art workshops for teen adoptees and foster kids. Attendees were given opportunities to design and get help with creating a piece of art for the art show at the end of the year. The art show was open to the public and had approximately 150 attendees in 2024. Youth program & mentoring: this program includes two sub-programs - a monthly 3 hour art-based saturday program for youth 7-12 with a 1:1 ratio of mentors to children to help onsite; and a one-on-one mentoring program where mentors and mentees go to parks or other community based activities. In both subprograms, mentors with lived experience make up the majority of the mentors. Background checks and specific training is required for all mentors.
