The enterprise group will build and sustain a vibrant, diversified economy, thereby improving jackson's quality of life. The enterprise group's mission is to help entrepreneuers and businesses break ground in jackson county on a new venture or bring and expand a current operation to the area.

Through the procurement technical assistance center (ptac), which is now known as the south central michigan apex accelerator (apex), over 78.3 million in federal and state contracts totaling 293 awards were granted to jackson county companies in 2024. Apex provides services to the counties of clinton, eaton, hillsdale, ingham, jackson, and lenawee counties, and they have regularly staffed offices in jackson, at the enterprise group, and lansing with satelite offices located in litchfield and adrian.
