Mission

Engaging and supporting seniors, adults with disabilities, and family caregivers to lead meaningful lives. Service areas are milwaukee county and waukesha county, wisconsin.

Programs

3 programs

Supporting seniors: the faith in action program supports the growing number of milwaukee county and waukesha county seniors who do not qualify for government entitlement programs, who lack sufficient income to purchase services, and who do not have an informal support system to help with daily activities (grocery shopping, transportation, home safety projects, managing finances). Services are offered at no charge to seniors, helping them to live on a fixed income. By supporting seniors who have no other options for their care, the program assists them in living meaningful lives. Services provided by trained volunteers ensure that each senior has time needed for completing tasks without concern of paying an hourly fee.

Expenses: $711K

The mobility management project provides a knowledgeable, compassionate strategy for transit-dependent seniors, adults with disabilities, and family caregivers to access transportation through waukesha county's transportation system. The project includes training in public transit, written and internet resources about available transportation services, outreach to transit-dependent individuals and groups, and one-on-one support for riders and their family caregivers. The availability of new and existing transportation services in waukesha county are shared by printing and distributing find-a-ride network waukesha county resource guides and updating and promoting the informational website for find-a-ride network. Travel coordination assistance is provided through telephone and in-person consultations for eras clients, caregivers, and seniors and adults with disabilities whose unmet needs extend beyond eras volunteer driver program and find a ride network van service.

Expenses: $304K

Community awareness: the s.t.o.p. Seniors frauds & scams programs brings timely information to seniors and family caregivers to help decrease victimization of frauds and scams. The program has provided presentations to over 2,000 community members since its start in 2016. Presentation modules include computer scams, caregiver scams, financial fraud, telemarketing scams, power of attorney and investment scams, and charity scams.
