Legal services including tenant counseling and full scope legal representation in an eviction matter: The Eviction Defense Collaborative (EDC)walk-in Right to Counsel legal clinic provided limited and pro per services to 1,094 unique individuals providing 1,118 points of limited legal services. Our Tenant Right to Counsel Litigation team closed 346 Full-Scope Legal Representation cases and provided 93 limited Scope points of service. Services delivered had a 96% rate of positive outcomes, successfully preventing displacement and homelessness for the tenants served. Legal services included full scope representation, preparing legal answers and requests for delays of sheriff evictions, representation at Mandatory Settlement Conferences, and assisting tenants in representing themselves throughout their legal process when necessary.

The Shelter Client Advocates(SCA) program served 387 unhoused individuals residing in shelters funded by the City and County of San Francisco who were facing Denials of Service (DOS, or eviction) from such shelters. The SCA team completed 586 shelter hearings and arbitrations for Denials of Service. The SCA program provides shelter residents with due) process at shelter eviction hearings, monitors shelter conditions and the application of shelter rules, and provides informal conflict resolution between the shelter staff and residents. San Francisco is unique in the country in that it provides a formal grievance process for those who have been denied services from City funded shelters. In 2022, the San Francisco Shelter Grievance Policy was codified into law after years of advocacy by a citywide coalition of homelessness advocates, including the EDC Shelter Client Advocacy Program.
