Congregate meals - congregate meals are meals provided to eligible older persons in a group setting either in senior centers or adult care centers. Hot or other appropriate meals which meet at least one-third of the recommended nutritional needs of older persons are available in the area served by the area agency on aging at least once a day, five or more days a week. During the 2024 fiscal year, experience serviced approximately 210 consumers in the congregate meals program.
Home delivered meals - the home delivered meal program provides meals delivered to older pennsylvanians who are unable to prepare their own food and who cannot rely on family members or other supports to see to their nutritional needs. As part of the home delivered meal program, area agencies on aging provide appropriate information on nutrition and good eating habits to the consumer. During the 2024 fiscal year, experience serviced approximately 310 consumers in the home delivered meals program.
All other program services consist primarly of protective services, personal care services, assessments, information and referral services, transportation services, ombudsman and other services provided by the agency.
