Education & Training: ELSO offers several courses: ELSO Foundations courses - now Neo/Peds and Adult which address all patient populations. This is a virtual course available globally and priced to allow access in resource constrained countries. Group discounts are available for ECMO centers interested in education a significant portion of their team through foundations. In-person training is another means of training teams. ELSO offers courses in simulation and cannulation courses. We provide individual certification for adult practitioners; with Neo/Peds being launched soon. Certification is intended for active practitioners that have achieved ELSO's standards in didactic and simulation training and can attest to clinical hours appropriate for their role.
Annual Scientific Conference: Each year, ELSO hosts a scientific conference which brings clinicians, scientists, engineers, and others together to share and advance knowledge for ECLS. Detroit, Michigan was the host site for the scientific conference, where 1,507 people attended in person and another 209 registered for the virtual conference afterward. A 35th Anniversary celebration followed in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where approximately 220 joined in person for this event. CME and equivalent were available for those that need to maintain education and training as part of their professional employment.
ELSO works with device developers, which are typically corporate members of ELSO. ELSO will provide an analysis of the performance of a specific requested device relative to the performance of similar devices such that no competitor's device performance can be made known. ELSO also composes and publishes several books, made available for purchase through ELSO's publications page on our website.
