Fair Housing Center Of Metropolitan Detroit

Training - The Fair Housing Center expanded its fair housing training to the public, as well as to management companies, property owners, realtors, industry groups, and municipalities. The Center conducted a total of 64 fair housing training, education, and webinar events - its highest total ever. At the national level, the executive director of the Center presented in HUDs three-day 2024 FHIP Grants Management Approaches and Financial management Training Seminar in New Orleans, LA, in August 2024. The director of the Center also trained and presented before the Community Relations Division of the City of Salina, KS, the Human Relations Commission of Evansville-Vanderburg, IL, the Maine Human Rights Division, and the University of Illinois Chicago UIC John Marshall Law School.

Education - In January 2024, the Board of Directors of the Center approved the expansion of the service area into St. Clair County, Michigan. With the addition of St. Clair County, along with Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties, the Center now serves over 4 million Michigan residents, exceeding 40 of Michigan population.
