Military and alaska defense forum: the fedc military program seeks to anchor, leverage and grow the military industry in interior alaska. The military industry accounts for roughly a third of the local economy - while alaska, and specifically the interior, offers the united states the most strategic location on its soil from which to project power across the northern hemisphere and asia/pacific rim. Fedc works broadly to engage the military through direct contacts and local and national associations to enhance alaska's and the community's competitive position in the national military "marketplace".

Rural outreach: fairbanks strives to be the economic, recreational and cultural hub of interior and northern alaska. The city has long served as a conduit for commerce; trade, transportation, and natural resource development being its underpinning. In order to develop relationships and build regional capacity, fedc works with the fairbanks international airport, fairbanks north star borough, greater fairbanks chamber of commerce, tananan chiefs conference, leaders of interior communities, and more, to advance the collective needs of the region by working on the following projects: regional marketing, organization of trade missions to interior communities, monitoring bypass mail legislation, supporting transportation routes to rural communities, and the stamp your business "certified bush friendly" project.
