Counterspin is the weekly half-hour radio show of fair that broadcasts on over 150 non-commercial stations across the country. It is also available online. The show covers a number of news items from the past week and then conducts interviews on two major news stories by experts in the field.

Fairs activism involves encouraging members to communicate to journalists to demand more responsible reporting. Fair works to invigorate the first amendment by advocating for greater diversity in the press and by scrutinizing media practices that marginalize public interest, minority and dissenting viewpoints.
