Family Housing and Adult Resources Inc. FHAR serves adults with developmental disabilities. FHARs mission is to assist each program participant to reach their full potential.

Programs

3 programs

Vocational and social programs known as day programs encompass Adult Development ADP and Employment Support Services ESS. ADP is a pre-vocational initiative for adults with mental challenges reducing maladaptive behaviors that hinder participation in standard vocational programs. ESS focuses on independent and vocational skills employment prospects and volunteer engagements with non-disabled peers. Participants transition into the workforce with ongoing support from FHAR staff to secure placements. In 2024 day programs averaged 84-86 participants monthly.

Expenses: $2.8M

Supported Living Services SLS and Independent Living Training ILT serve individuals who graduated from FHARs residential service program and reside in their homes or families or those who live in FHARs supported living facilities. These services help program participants live semi-independently in their communities. In 2024 50-54 clients participated in FHARs SLS and ILT programs.
