Honolulu City and County Grant In Aid (City GIA) program Peer Parenting Support groups to (1) increase adult & child wellbeing to combat stress/isolation/depression; (2) build protective factors against child abuse and neglect; (3) increase parent engagement in their childs learning; (4) provide professional development for Family Child Care providers to enhance child learning and engagement; (5) promote healthy child outcomes.

Maui Strong Cultivating Ohana Resilience: Building Strong Families with Young Keiki through Connection and Support provide families with an opportunity to connect, heal, and grow together to build resilience and strengthen families. The primary activity is Hui Support Group Sessions, mentor or peer-led groups for families to build their Protective Factors, develop relationships in their community, and reflect on how they parent their keiki. The groups (1) increase adult & child wellbeing to combat stress/isolation/depression (2) build protective factors against child abuse and neglect; (3) increase parent engagement in their childs learning; (4) provide professional development for Family Child Care providers to enhance child learning and engagement; (5) promote healthy child outcomes.In addition, Malama Resiliency Kits provide families with activities, instructions, and inspiration for how best to meet the needs of their ohana.
