Mission
To provide a community-based response that empowers and equips families experiencing homelessness and housing-instability to achieve sustainable independence.
Programs
3 programs
Prevention & diversion program - family promise of knoxville provides short-term direct assistance to families, including rent and utility assistance, helping them avoid eviction by remaining in their current housing, if feasible. Then, we offer long-term stabilization support to families. This includes tenancy training, credit repair/education, landlord mediation, health and wellness, and youth support. For prospective landlords, having a family work with family promise of knoxville will be an advantage.
Going home staying home stabilization program - family promise of knoxville provides long-term support to help families with children remain stably housed. This program is available for families who have gone through one of our programs.
Transitional housing - after completing our emergency shelter program, families have the opportunity to apply for our transitional housing program. If accepted, they will live in our transitional housing property and continue to work with a case manager for up to six months. This collaborative effort will help them meet the necessary goals for transitioning into permanent, affordable housing.
