Family Promise Of Midland Texas Inc

Midland interfaith hospitality network (mihn) - the mihn is a partnership of congregations/companies/volunteer groups within the community helping families who are facing homelessness. The mihn uses existing community resources to provide comprehensive services to families experiencing homelessness. This unuque community response offers an opportunity for volunteers to be on the front line of midland's effort to reduce homelessness while transforming the lives of families in need. Family promise's mihn program may serve up to 4 families at a time. While in the program, the adults are required to work full-time, go to school full-time, or a combination thereof. Families work with a case manager on short-term objectives, obtaining long-term goals. All families have credit reports run and then begin the tasks of increasing their credit scores, while reducing debt. In addition, all families are required to save 80% of their earned income in their own bank accounts. Parents are also required to attend monthly trainings, including financial literacy training. The families in the mihn reside in duplex #2 at 2908 w. Ohio ave., midland, tx, which is derectly behind family promise of midland's day center/offices. Each 3 bedroom/2 bath unit is shared by two families. We served a toal of 68 individuals during 2024.

Outreach - this program offers assistance to any individual or family who does not qualify for our mihn or families forward program. This includes anyone without children under the age of 18, homeless individuals, veterans, elderly, etc. We offer case management services, financial literacy and basic needs. Families who are on our waitlist for the listed programs above, will also work with the outreach department to move their progress along so when they enter family promise they can excel at a much quicker rate.during 2024, a total of 409 individuals were served.
