Family Values For Life

Jump Start to the New You and other programs - helps single heads-of-household (mostly women) build skills, access resources, and become engaged parents, providers, and community members through weekly workshops and periodic events. In 2023-24, we provided 80 Jump Start to the New You workshops for 86 regular participants. 100% of regular participants reported increased social connectedness and support, 86% reported increased knowledge regarding financial literacy, and 100% took an action step to improve financial stability. Beauty for Ashes - grief and trauma counseling and support for women through individual and group settings. 44 women participated in Beauty for Ashes in 2023-24. Community outreach events - help build community and counter the social isolation felt by so many in poverty. 105 people attended the in-person annual Jump Start Conference (January 2024). The 2024 Mother's Day engaged over 100 registrants plus their kids and families (over 300 hundred in attendance. -Basic needs support - 3x/week food and quarterly household supplies distribution. From August 2023-July 2024, Family Values for Life and partners distributed 551,574 pounds of food to an unduplicated 2,390 households (7,860 individuals). We also gave 400 Thanksgiving and 110 Christmas food bundles in 2023. We are on track to distribute 1,871,495 pounds of food in 2024.

Family support - through case management and community referrals. It is our aim to be a "one-stop shop" for families in crisis, either by providing services or connecting them to what they need. In partnership with Ramsey County, we provided Family-Centered Coaching/case management to 37 families during August 2023-July 2024. The family coach made 358 referrals to additional families for other community resources. Our M Health Fairview Cultural Broker The Cultural Broker held 54 families (cases) over the last year, along with 504 additional families through referrals (encounters). Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies - provides prenatal and postpartum education and support. 40+ women participated in multiple workshop series. We held two group baby shower + doula showcase events that included information and equipping new moms with baby supplies, along with an additional graduation event. A second family coach works with the women in this program.
