Programs
2 programs
Far Away Friends supports the operations of a registered Community-Based Organization (CBO) in Uganda led by local leadership. This support ensures fair wages for all in-country staff and provides the infrastructure needed to carry out core programs on the ground. FAF-USA provides grants and operational funding to empower this team to lead sustainable education programs rooted in community needs.
The Schools for Schools Program builds cross-cultural partnerships between students in the U.S. and Uganda, fostering global citizenship and raising awareness about education equity. In Uganda, this program enhances local government schools through WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) improvements, capacity building for teachers, and infrastructure support. U.S.-based students engage through pen-pal exchanges, club fundraising, and global development workshops.
