Mission

Farms for Food Equity strives for a Maine free from hunger in which all Mainers are able to access and choose nutritious desirable and safe food especially farm fresh fruits vegetables and proteins. We seek to create greater profitability and stability for Maine farms. We serve farm businesses that seek to maximize their harvest by providing off grade off runs and first quality products to organizations that are working to solve hunger. We achieve our mission by acquiring funding for three purposes: first to purchase raw products from Maine farms and then distribute quality fresh pack or lightly processed foods through existing channels to sites for people to access food; second to support improving food distribution with dignity honor and respect for Mainers without access to quality fresh food; and finally to develop efficient processes for food harvesting processing and handling and provide training to develop skilled farming.
