GCVs mission is to advocate for public policies that advance a more just and sustainable future, campaign for candidates who will make climate and environmental justice a priority, and hold elected officials accountable for their actions and votes.

Electoral: The organization endorses pro-environment candidates for public office.
Legislative: We lobby state, city, and county legislators to advance a more just and sustainable climate and environmental justice policies.
Scorecard: We produce environmental scorecards to empower people to hold their elected leaders accountable for their actions on the environment. The scorecard grades legislators' votes on the most critical climate and environmental justice issues during the legislative session, including energy, climate change, public health, public lands and wildlife protection, and spending on environmental programs.
