Public education: Website, print newsletter, info request responses. An average of 50 individuals per month request health, care or behavior information and are answered free of charge. Inquiries are generated via our website, Facebook, and phone. Our Facebook page has over 3,500 followers across 10 countries. 5 issues per year of an informational newsletter, Paw Printz, is printed & published.

Laboratory Ferret Rescue: In 2024, 37 ferrets were accepted and rehomed from a medical research institution. 2 were transferred to a trusted shelter partner for rehoming. Our plan is to build upon our base of laboratory contacts (currently 4) to connect with more research facilities where ferrets can be either released to us or to a local, contracted shelter.

Support for other ferret shelter includes: 1.) The Ferret Shelters Directory. The Directory (www.ferretshelters.org) is an online, searchable database of places that accept and place ferrets. Created & administered by the Ferret Association, listings are free for shelters and public users. 2) In 2024, efforts to expand the Ferret Shelters Directory included sponsoring a table at the New England Federation of Humane Societies annual conference in order to encourage large regional humane societies that accept & place ferrets to be listed as a resource for the public. In 2024, there were 58,000 site views of the Ferret Shelters Directory site.
