Fidec is a u.s.-based nonprofit organization that develops health care programs to improve global health by preventing and reducing the burden of infectious diseases. The organization is made up of physicians, scientists, and other health care professionals.

Educational campaigns to educate about the importance of vaccination in order to improve immunization rates and to promote the adoption of healthy self-care habits. Working groups of specialists in infectious diseases, to provide an institutional framework for the development of strategies and actions for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases. Online training for physicians, nurses and pharmacists through a free virtual campus on topics such as communication and vaccines program for screening and detection of gestational diabetes.
Medical assistance program in armenia aimed at improving healthcare access and outcomes for vulnerable populations. Health program for artsakh refugees, to provide free check-ups, diagnostics and treatment for chronic diseases as well as psychosocial care.
Education programs for the community, immunization campaigns, research, and implementation of health care programs for rural areas stand out among other projects. Community oriented programs include: a. Awarness day campaigns, fidec joins national and international campaigns to promote diseases prevention through periodic checkups and immunization. B. Binational health activities to promote flu vaccination in latin american consulates of argentina, colombia, guatemala, peru and mexico, jointly carried out by fidec and walgreens pharmacy. C. Vaccination campaign at university of miami to train undergraduate students on vaccines basics, communication strategies and peer education. D. Program for artsakh refugees carried out in armavir, delivers free, life-saving care for vulnerable adults. The program provides patients the tools, knowledge, and medications to manage chronic hypertension and diabetes. E. Miami-dade immunization coalition aims to increase vaccination rates, identify barriers, overcome issues, and exchange knowledge and experiences among fidec, the department of infectious diseases of the university of miami, and representatives from governmental and private organizations. F. Campaigns carried out in health fairs and social media to raise awarness on infectious diseases prevention and the importance of vaccination, providing key information and dispelling misconceptions. Health care professionals oriented programs include: a. Online health education (stamboulian talks): free online conferences presented by expert speakers targeted to health care professionals on latest developments related to common diseases and healthcare topics. B. Working group of latin american experts on dengue and other arboviruses to develop a strategic framework to improve prevention, control and policy reponse across the region.
