Mission

The mission of filament theatre is to create a more equitable society by celebrating and amplifying the perspectives and experiences of young people through the performing arts.

Programs

2 programs

Education and family programs: continued providing theatre based classes for families and schools through in-school and after-school residencies with public elementary schools, summer camps, and on site classes. Curriculum based primarily around the themes of filament's theatrical productions. In 2024, the production cloud man toured to elementary schools and libraries, bringing filament's production into schools for the first time.

Expenses: $31K

Artistic residency and youth development program: commission and developed new works under the banner of filament's internationally renowned spark program. Students apply to serve on a panel and receive 6 weeks of free training through weekly workshops. Professional artists applied to a student panel; the studenst provided the guidance and feedback for further development on the path to generate new works for the national canon of art for young audiences.
