361 by FINCA - Overview: 361 by FINCA is a digital B2B technology platform re-inventing microfinance. By leveraging event-based architecture and smart contract technology, 361 by FINCA enables financial service providers to digitize their operations and deliver configurable, low-cost credit products. This increases the relevance and reach of financial service providers, ultimately unlocking opportunity for the millions of micro-entrepreneurs who are currently held back by lack of access to affordable productive credit. 361 empowers providers to introduce new products (renewal loans, micro-insurance) and features (repayment holidays, cashback incentives) more quickly, while reducing operating costs. This makes credit simpler and more affordable - especially for women and smallholder farmers - empowering them to grow their businesses, build financial health, and create sustainable livelihoods for their families and communities. 2024 Milestones: In 2024, 361 by FINCA reached several key milestones. Ikigai Digital was selected as the platform build partner after a competitive review of nine system integrators, and 361 by FINCA leadership recruitment progressed to near completion, including the search for a Chief Technology Officer. Loan product pilots were initiated and monitored in Malawi, Uganda, and Zambia to eventually be coded as smart contracts onto the 361 Platform. Further, pre-build planning activities were completed, including defining agile workflows, MVP definitions, and build squad planning. Fundraising efforts also advanced to secure resources for both proof of concept and future scale, with active engagement of global donors and development finance institutions. Plan for 2025: Looking ahead, 361 will build and launch its platform MVP in partnership with Ikigai Digital, and potential partner Thought Machine Vault. The Platform will first launch in FINCA Malawi, with expansion planned to additional FINCA subsidiaries in Sub-Saharan Africa and to third-party partners. The MVP will digitize loan origination and renewal for individual and group customers, while establishing the differentiated architecture needed for faster product and feature innovation. In addition to building core platform capabilities and systems integrations, the team will be focused on operating model and regulatory engagement to ensure sustainable adoption.
FINCA Impact Finance - Microfinance is a source of personal empowerment and an essential tool for economic mobility. For almost four decades, FINCA International (FINCA) has set the standard for what is possible in empowering low-income people to take control of their financial futures. As the founder and majority owner of FINCA Impact Finance (FIF), a network of 13 sustainable leading microfinance institutions and banks in Asia, Europe, Africa, and Latin America, FINCA provides access to responsible financial solutions that help low-income families create jobs, build assets, educate their children and improve their standard of living. Considering that as of 2027, nearly 1.7 billion adults around the world could remain financially excluded without access to useful and affordable financial products and services delivered in a responsible and sustainable way, FINCA remains committed to the advancement of financial inclusion in some of the most challenging markets in the world, in remote areas that many commercial providers can't or won't reach. Today, FIF offers a variety of products and services for individuals and groups. Worldwide, millions of entrepreneurs rely on FIF's commitment to consumer protection and an unmatched customer experience to help them build a better future for themselves, their families, and their communities. Through the Network, FINCA has reached 1.9 million customers, a $630 million USD loan portfolio, and $274 million USD deposits. According to FINCA's clients, FIF's products have helped improve their financial situation, increased their earnings, and grow their non-cash assets. During 2024, $1.1 billion US Dollars were disbursed across FIF's Network through 14.5 million loans. The total gross portfolio increased to $698.5 million US Dollars. Out of all the borrowers in that same year, 40.6% were women, confirming that this group continues to be at the heart of FINCA.
