To assist in the protection and preservation of life and property located within the city of holton and the rural fire districts for which the department is responsible, and any other such activities for the protection and betterment of the community.

Organization responded to rescue calls in 2024 in an effort to assist potential victims of accidents and to lessen the burdens of government.
Organization gave tours of the firehouse facility to elementary students and gave demonstrations at local schools to instill in young children the importance of fire safety. Organization also provided free smoke detector installation in the community.
