First Five Fundamentals

Pierce county early childhood network is a linkage, resource, and referral network that connects families of young children to information and community-based resources, and facilitates collaboration among community organizations. Community resources include supporting the county diaper bank network, and family resource navigation in partnership with a local call center.

Family connects pierce county is a national, evidence-based model implemented in partnership with multiple organizations that provides brief nurse support for families with newborns. Family connects serves over 50 families per month with 1-3 telehealth or in-person home visits in a newborn's first three months of life, and provides holistic linkage to culturally-relevant community resources depending on the family's needs.

Other programs supported by first five fundamentals includes the child care capacity initiative for supporting child care provider business start-up and expansion, baby lounges and group peer support groups for families with children, fiscal sponsorship of early childhood coalitions including northwest early learning and visions for early learning, and compensating people with lived experience.
