We provided a grant to the Animal Law Center at NALSAR University to conduct research, and stakeholder outreach on fish factory farming in India.

Expenses: $118KGrants: $118K

Through our on-ground staff in India, we supported 162 active farms in adopting higher welfare practices, which is 62 more than the previous year. These practices included lowering stocking densities to sustainable levels and improving water quality management. In 2024, we estimate that this program improved the lives of over 1.2 million fish.

Expenses: $90K

Description: Advancing FWI's mission for aquatic life and animal welfare in India and China. Majority of these expenses were spent to support our farmer program and research work in India and other stakeholder partnerships and projects. We also spent a portion to pay for staff and support conferences to continue our field-building efforts for aquatic animal welfare in China.
