In response to Hurricane Helene, the Fleetwood Volunteer Fire Department activated its full disaster response protocol. Program services included deploying volunteer teams for water rescues and emergency medical aid, operating a community shelter for displaced residents, and serving as a key distribution center for food, water, and emergency supplies. These efforts provided immediate relief and support to approximately 500 residents in the Fleetwood Fire District and neighboring communities severely impacted by the storms flooding and power outages, ensuring community safety and facilitating initial recovery efforts. In addition Fleetwood Volunteer Fire Department made a donation to Lansing Volunteer Fire Department and Lansings Bridge to Recovery for Hurricane Helene Relief.
