Members are given the opportunity to meet directly with state lawmakers and their staff, and educate the public on the important role agricultural producers play in our economy and our efforts to keep food safe, abundant and affordable for all consumers.
Sarasota County Farm Bureau supported a local school's new Ag In The Classroom Program. The school intends to modify a native species pollinator garden, develop a space for bees and build a food forest for their students. The goal is create a garden that can supply the nutrition and culinary classes with the products needed for the class and provide additional food for their lunch program. Students will have the opportunity to learn where their food comes from through hands on experiences.
