We participated in Ag Literacy week. The purpose of this event is to highlight agriculture education. Volunteers read an age appropriate agricultural theme book to students to increase their knowledge of agriculture. Students and teacher may also receive hands-on lessons which help reinforce what they learned about a specific commodity.
In November, Hernando-Citrus members participated in an event sponsored by Everglades Equipment Group. The Hay Day event, which featured a variety of hay-making equipment demonstrations. The event also provided a special tractor safety class designed specifically for women, supporting both education and safety awareness in agricultural operations.
