We hold the District Speech contest at our office. The purpose of the contest is to promote stronger interest and clearer understanding of the many aspects of agriculture and to provide opportunities for our youth to gain knowledge, appreciation, and understanding of agriculture, and help to promote agriculture's many values and virtues.
Indian River County Farm Bureau actively supports 4-H. 4-H is delivered by Cooperative Extension - a community of more than 100 public universities across the nation that provides experiences where young people learn by doing. Kids complete hands on projects in areas like health, science, agriculture and citizenship, in a positive environment where they receive guidence from adult mentors and are encouraged to take a proactive leadership roles.
