Summer training was designed for criminal defense attorneys and defense team offering continuing legal education approved by the florida bar. There are multiple program tracks including specialized training tracks for juvenile attorneys, investigators, mitigation specialists, support staff & administrators. The training was attended by public defenders, assistant public defenders, office of regional criminal & civil conflict counsel conflict [orccc] attorneys, and private attorneys. The income was $79,660 (approximately 321 public defender employees, 3 orccc attorneys & 13 private attorneys attended)

Winter training was designed for criminal defense attorneys on ethics, technology, legal issues, and mental health issues. The program offered continuing legal education approved by the florida bar. The training was attended by public defenders, assistant public defenders, office of regional criminal & civil conflict counsel conflict [orccc] attorneys, and private attorneys. The income was $55,000 (155 assistant public defenders, 11 orccc attorneys & 5 private attorney attended)

Executive management training (emt) involves several substantiveplenary sessions, and dynamic, hands-on facilitation in a small group setting that challenges participants to analyze, reflect, and plan for action. Emt is a program for approximately 60 participants, two half days and one full day, with four hours for the small group workshop sessions. Emt features public defender faculty, intensive small group work, practical training skills, and the benefit of an enduring network of support. It has been developed for attorney and support staffleaders, managers and supervisors. The focus of emt is to provide the legal and ethical 2 foundations of law office management along with practical tools for supervisors to do their jobs on behalf of the public defender. Being supportive of their staff's development while still having an accountable system to ensure that clients receive high quality representation are foundational elements of leading today. The income was $21,600.spring/fall defender college is an intensive training program for assistant public defenders with less than 18 months of experience. It bridges the gap from law school, providing in-depth answers to foundational questions through a mix of large group lectures and small group practice sessions. Each participant receives preparatory materials and is expected to arrive each morning dressed for court, ready to engage in trial exercises. The program hosts 48 participants, with slots allocated per circuit, and includes 12 experienced group leaders who serve as both speakers and mentors. Leaders guide small groups of eight participants, offering hands-on feedback to strengthen trial skills. The income was $18,900 for spring training and $22,200 for the fall training.
