Mission

The florida sids alliance provides family support for infants lost to sids or other infant death, educate families and professionals about reducing sids and other infant deaths, and fund research in the cause of sids. A new partnership with cribs for kids has provided pack n plays for the distribution in the state. Safe sleep books and rack cards are being distributed to volunteers and hospitals for distribution to families that have delivered recently.

Printing of informational cards and distribution of mobile crib to needy families across the state to help promote the "safe sleep" message as well as teach the parents and caregivers methods to prevent suffocation and asphyxiation in the infant under the age of 6 months. Purchase of books to be given out at lectures, health fairs, and through classes sponsored by the healthy start coalition to promote early reading and reinforcement of the safe sleep message.
