Mission

To inspire our community to cultivate the values of kind, compassionate, responsible, humane care of the county's animals, including stray, feral, and owned, through both education and community-based programs, and to prevent cruelty to animals, wherever we find it.

Programs

3 programs

Feline Program - FOCCAS took in over 29 stray or owner-surrendered felines turned away from the county animal shelter. These canines were spayed or neutered, vaccinated, treated for diseases or injuries, and sheltered at our facility or in foster homes. 6 felines were adopted out. FOCCAS participates in TRAP-NEUTER-RETURN.

Expenses: $24K

Distressed Animal Fund (DAF) - FOCCAS provided emergency medical care for stray and abandoned animals found by members of the public. They were treated by local veterinarians and specialists. Care continued until the animals were recovered enough to be put up for adoption. Care included spay or neuter, vaccination, treatment for heartworm disease and other diseases. Assisted 34 canines and 2 felines.

Expenses: $43K

Other programs included educational outreach, support for CCAS, and Community Outreach for At-Risk Dogs (CORD) Education Program - FOCCAS reaches out to local schools and various organizations, churches, etc. to provide books and programs about pet and animal care. Educating the next generations of pet owners is paramount in bringing about real and lasting change in animal welfare. CORD - This program is designed to help those less fortunate who still want to provide a loving home to a pet. FOCCAS will provide doghouses, straw for cold months, and even fencing to prevent dogs from being tethered outside 24/7 to those community members who request this assistance.
