In 2024, folded map served as the fiscal sponsor for the englewood arts collective (eac) and provided thought partnership and fundraising support to strengthen its organizational structure, helping firmly establish eac as an arts and culture steward in greater englewood. Led in part by folded map's founder, tonika johnson, who is also a co-founder of eac, the collective has become a leader in chicago for community-entered creative placemaking. Eac is composed of experienced artists from englewood who advance their mission through creative expression rooted in joy, representation, and community change. Eac believes in: (1) the power of a people when they tell their own story. (2) the power of art as a legitimate, viable conduit for revitalizing economic and healing change in communities. (3) the potential for artists to be leaders and influencers of said change.
