Procurement and distribution of food to agencies serving the needy

Direct services- our neighborhood food distributions deliver nutritious food to every community within san luis obispo county. The slo food bank uses federal, state, and local data on food insecurity to target locations of the highest need within our county. Our staff and fleet of refrigerated trucks deliver nutritious food directly to these sites and work alongside our volunteer corps to ensure adequate access to healthy food.
Nutrition education program- the slo food bank believes healthy food choices improve our community's overall physical, social, and emotional well-being. We empower participants to make healthy choices through outreach and education. This program includes childrens and seniors farmers' markets, breakfast bag program for school-aged children, nutrition outreach classes and distribution of educational materials.
Calfresh: collaborates with cdss to provide calfresh program education and application assistance resources to community members.
