Mission
For the Love of Primates works to create a sanctuary for monkeys retired from laboratory research or previously kept as pets. For the Love of Primates also provides free primate-centered STEM educational outreach programs, specifically aiming to reach children from minorities typically underrepresented in the sciences.
Programs
2 programs
Community Outreach and Education: We engage in community outreach initiatives to reach adult community members at festivals, community events, and through online outreach and partnerships with other local animal-centered organizations. We focus on educating adults about our mission, as well as the conservation and animal welfare issues that primates face in the USA and worldwide.
Sanctuary Design: We have worked with construction and design experts throughout the year to create the conceptual designs for our primate sanctuary. These designs are being used for public outreach and education, fundraising, and to approach potential laboratory and research partners who will retire their animals with us in the future.
