Engagement: franconia operates a 50-acre outdoor museum that includes franconia commons, a 7,000 sq. Foot visitor center, education space, gallery and gift shop. Our activities cultivate critical dialogue between artists and audiences; support artists through the production and presentation of new, experimental work; and educate artists and audiences of tomorrow. Franconia applies creative solutions to the problems of today and tomorrow through the vehicle of contemporary sculpture. We create bold programming that is ambitious, innovative, and that is responsive to the wants and needs of artists and our community. Moreover, we aim to create a welcoming, inviting space for all visitors to learn more about art, the environment, and the changing world we live in. Franconia is free and open to the public 365-days a year, and serves more than 110,000 adults and 75,000 youths annually. We are proud to share franconia paid 235 artists last year through our programs. This is reflected in the balance between education, engagement, and residencies last year.

Expenses: $218K

Artist residency: franconia provides year-round residency programs that provide money, studio space, professional development, and exhibition opportunity for more than 40 artists annually working at the intersection of scrulpture, installation, social practice, performance, and land art. Our current programs include: winter writers residency, emerging artists-in-residency, and mid-career fellowships.
