Mission
Friends of Puvungna's initial task was to stop development on Puvungna. Ourgoal is to restore the Puvungna site and promote a place for tribal healing and spiritual growth. The lawsuit settlement allows us to remove the construction soils deposited on the site The soils have been documented to be contaminated with arsenic. We are working with soils engineers to develop a plan forsoils removal. We are working to develop a plan to do plantings with native plants that reduce contaminants in the soilto make removal less toxic. The State Historic Preservation Office of California has sent letters documenting that the soil weight is damaging this prehistoric village.
