Friends of Spannocchia connects people to an authentic Tuscan landscape, local food systems, and sustainable living practices to transform their relationship with the natural environment. Through hands on experiences on an ancient organic farm, we encourage healthy solutions for our planet.

Programs

The educational program provides 1-3 week programs for students and adults focused on topics related to Italian culture and history, food and agriculture, sustainability, fine arts and music, and wellness. Approximately 375 people participated in educational programs in 2024.

The farm grant program supports innovative agricultural and conservation projects on the Spannocchia property, reflecting our commitment to education and the environment. The board considers project proposals that showcase responsible land and water use, demonstrate trailblazing permaculture practices, and inspire and educate visitors about climate-conscious choices. In 2024, we helped fund upgrades to the wastewater management and water conservation systems that serve the property.
