Friends Of The Dunes

Education: guided walks, educational programs for the general public and a school education program that includes classroom presentations and full-day field trips that reaches 2,700 students annually.

Land stewardship: the restoration program coordinates volunteers almost every weekend of the year to restore coast areas along the entire north spit, with an average of 300 individuals participating annually.

Visitor center/nature: the humboldt coastal nature center is open to the public six days a week with interpretive displays and miles of public trails access. Development of the nature center includes completing aspects of the project that were not completed in the first phase, as well as indoor exhibits and development of the gift shop.
