Our native food forest is an educational ecosystem restoration project. We partner with schools for onsite learning, with students coming weekly during the school year. The project showcases responsible agroecological practices like vegetated buffer zones, which reduce the risk that excess nutrients end up in puget sound. In 2024 the food forest was recognized by the usda as a "people's garden" as it supports a more diverse and resilient local food system to empowers the community to address issues like nutrition access and climate change.

Expenses: $262

Under a license agreement we schedule and coordinate all programming and events on the publicly owned farmland. We also manage 14 p-patch plots so that families can grow their own food and learn from one another. Our annual farm-to-table event showcasing local farms and dinner sourced from local farmers. We also partner with the bi fruit club for maintenance and programming in the historic johnson farm and coordinate activities related to the orchard.
