Mission

The mission of Friends of the Library Southport Oak Island is to provide our two local branches, the Margaret & James Harper, Jr. Library in Southport and the G.V. Barbee, Sr. Library on Oak Island, with funding to support the enhancement of their collections, programs, and the actual facilities and to make them more appealing to both patrons and the community at large. Another goal is to advocate for additional funding from Brunswick County to enable our libraries to continue to meet the needs of the growing Brunswick County community.
