Friends of the mission is a non-profit organization that provides affordable housing for individuals, families and youth who are in need, but especially the homeless population in yolo county. Affordable housing may include emergency, transitional, supportive and permanent housing projects and programs.

As part of the broader purpose of providing a place for the homeless and those marginalized by society due to mental illness or drug and alcohol addictions, friends of the mission is a participant in the woodland collaborative - a public-private partnership with a mission to create an economically viable and programmatically sound solution to the increased number of individuals and families living homeless in woodland, california. Starting in 2020, the woodland collaborative constructed the east beamer way emergency 100 bed shelter and continued the planning process for a 60- unit affordable housing project, a 60-bed treatment program and a 12-unit affordable housing site. The shelter project was complete as of december 2020. The affordable housing project was completed in october 2022. The treatment program and the 12 unit affordable project are scheduled to be completed in 2025.

Expenses: $3K

Friends of the mission provided 15,000 to yolo county housing to fund 10 project based vouchers to assist with providing housing. Friends of the mission provided 10,000 to fourth & hope to support the 2023 and 2024 empty bowls fundraisers. Friends of the mission provided 4,125 to fourth & hope to support the 2024 christmas party for homeless individuals.
