Friends Of The Sleeping Bear Dunes

Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail - We operate and maintain a multi-use trail through parts of the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. The trails is used all year requiring inspection tree removal and repair the majority of the year and snow grooming for cross country skiing during the winter. Our volunteers patrol the trail and provide assistance when needed.

Educational Publications - We produce education pamphlets on the history foliage and birds within the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore.

Accessibility Program - Provide motorized access and assistance for Accessibility limited Park Visitors

Open Outdoor Education - Provide snowshoes night visits and other educational opportunities for children visiting the National Lakeshore.

Miscellaneous Programs

Plover Conservation Assist the Park in monitoring of the rare Plover bird.

Capacity Building Grant to enhance and improve the organizations ability to grow.
