Friends Of Westminster

Cash grants to Westminster Elementary School - funds teaching assistants and other instruction related activities. Benefits a little more than 400 students. Purpose is to reduce teacher/student ratio and to provide instruction not funded or fully funded by the school district (music,technology,art,and physical education).

WE Garden - funds gardening supplies and maintenance of the school garden. Volunteer master gardeners provide education to little over 400 students, teaching about the environment and nutrition along with gardening skills.

Field Trip Transportation - pays for transportation costs for at least one field trip per class each year. Serves nearly 400 students. Field trip purpose is to enrich and supplement classroom curriculum.

Festivals, dances, and movie nights - provides entertainment and community building for almost 400 students and the community at large.

Facility Improvement/Repairs - pay for improvements to school grounds and upgrades.

Celebrations - funds celebration lunches and events for both students and teachers. Serves a little over 400 students and about 60 teaching/staff members.

Teacher Professional Development - Reimburses teachers for professional development classes. Available to entire teaching staff.

Spirit Gear Sales - Purchases school branded t-shirts and sweatshirts for sale at cost to faculty and student families.

Hospitality - pays for refreshments at parent meetings. Serves families of over 400 students.
