Fsl home improvements operates the southwest building science training center which provides classroom and hands-on training to support new department of energy initiatives and local utility energy efficiency programs. In march of 2023, the southwest training center (swbstc) received a $3,000,000, 4-year contract from the arizona department of housing to create new training curriculum and conduct trainings for state-wide weatherization sub grantees and participating contractors. All current curriculum was revised, and the team is working to complete the last component: drafting an energy auditor class. Swbstc provided training to 113 students in fye 2024.
