Mission
The SOS Extraordinary Woman Foundation was created in 2021 with the purpose of supporting women victims of violence and young pregnant Latinas in the United States and the Dominican Republic. Over time, we have expanded our focus to include all vulnerable women, offering education, support, and empowerment. Our work is not limited to these countries but seeks to expand to other communities and contexts where our actions can have a positive impact, adapting to the specific needs of each location. The SOS Extraordinary Woman Foundation's fundamental objective is education, as we firmly believe that only through education can we promote the development and empowerment of vulnerable women, generating new opportunities for them. We work to improve the quality of life, the common good, and social, cultural, and recreational services for women in vulnerable situations, including women victims of violence, pregnant women, and single mothers.
Programs
1 program
Throughout 2024, the SOS Extraordinary Woman Foundation supported various in-person events aimed at groups of women in diverse communities, with the aim of promoting empowerment and unity among them. These events, held in different locations, offered participants a space for meeting, learning, and growth, tailored to the needs and realities of each community. Empowerment and Leadership Workshops: At each event, interactive workshops were held on leadership, self-awareness, and how to overcome everyday challenges. The women learned tools to strengthen their self-esteem and make decisions that would allow them to achieve their personal and professional goals. Psychological Support and Well-being Sessions: With the aim of addressing the emotional needs of the participants, individual and group psychological support sessions were offered. These sessions helped the women manage stress, anxiety, and other emotional challenges, promoting their overall well-being. Integration Activities and Support Network: In addition to the workshops, the events included integration activities where women could share their stories, build supportive relationships, and create solidarity networks. These networks offered them the support they needed to face adversity, share resources, and continue growing together. Each event was designed to be inclusive and accessible, taking into account the specificities and contexts of the women in each community. The SOS Extraordinary Woman Foundation provided a safe and supportive environment where women could find inspiration and tools to improve their lives and contribute to the collective well-being of their communities.
