Mission
To preserve and protect documents and artifacts relevant to the history of gallatin county and the surrounding area, and to avail these artifacts and documents in the gallatin history museum, located at 317 west main street, bozeman, mt 59715, for the education of the public.
Programs

Education & outreach through the publishing of a quarterly magazine, presentations for local organizations, outreach programs for teachers planning history curriculum, the annual meeting, and museum and research tours for area grade schools.
Receive and catalog artifacts, photos, family histories, and obituaries; register membership and donations; update computer system for storing historical data, membership records, donor information and scanning photos and paper artifacts; plan and arrange new exhibits both on-site and at remote locations.
Maintenance of equipment, research center and for the 1911 jail which is used for exhibit rooms, the bookstore, a meeting room, and storage areas. The research center also provides proper storage areas for data and historical items.
